/Trezor Suite is the official companion application for Trezor hardware wallets, serving as the secure bridge between your device and the blockchain. Unlike software-only wallets, Suite never holds your private keys—those remain isolated on the Trezor hardware itself. The application exists to make self-custody practical: you can send, receive, buy, sell, swap, and stake digital assets while every critical action requires physical confirmation on your device. Available as a desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as a web version and mobile app, Suite is designed to be the primary interface for managing your crypto securely. Getting Started and Device Setup The setup process is guided and deliberate. After downloading Suite from the official Trezor website, you connect your hardware wallet via USB. Suite immediately checks the device’s authenticity to confirm it is genuine and has not been tampered with. If the firmware is outdated, Suite prompts you to install the latest version. For a new device, you then create a wallet by writing down the recovery seed displayed on the Trezor screen—never on your computer—and setting a PIN that is entered directly on the device. Once initialized, the dashboard becomes your command center, showing your portfolio, accounts, and available assets. The dashboard is organized around accounts. Each cryptocurrency gets its own account, and you can create multiple accounts per network for different purposes, such as daily spending versus long-term savings. The left sidebar lets you switch between accounts, add new ones, or search for specific assets. The Portfolio section displays a historical chart of your total balance, with filters to adjust the time range. When your wallet is empty, Suite prompts you to receive crypto or use the integrated Buy & sell feature to purchase assets directly. Core Functions: Send, Receive, and Swap Receiving crypto requires care. Suite generates a fresh address each time you click Receive, which improves privacy by preventing address reuse. Before sharing the address, you must verify that it matches the one displayed on your Trezor device screen—this step prevents malware from swapping in a fraudulent address. Sending follows a similar confirmation logic: you enter the destination and amount in Suite, adjust the fee if desired, and then confirm the transaction details on the hardware device itself. The device screen is the final authority; if the address or amount shown there does not match what you intended, you reject the transaction. Swapping lets you exchange one cryptocurrency for another without sending funds to a centralized exchange. Suite integrates with third-party providers and compares offers, though the swap still requires device confirmation. The March 2026 update added a dedicated comparison page that highlights decentralized exchange options at the top, making it easier to find non-custodial trading routes. For buying and selling with fiat, Suite integrates providers such as BTC Direct, and the flow was simplified in the same update to reduce friction. Staking and Earning Suite supports staking for several proof-of-stake networks. Ethereum, Cardano, and Solana staking are available directly within the app, allowing you to earn rewards while helping secure the networks. The Cardano staking interface received an enhancement in March 2026, letting users update their delegation preferences without leaving the staking screen. A more recent update in May 2026 introduced a stablecoin yield feature under the Earn tab, expanding the range of earning opportunities beyond native staking. Privacy Features Privacy is treated as a first-class feature in Suite, not an afterthought. A Tor switch in the settings routes your internet traffic through the Tor anonymity network with a single click, hiding your IP address from your ISP and from Trezor’s own backend servers. Discreet mode blurs all balances and sensitive data on screen, revealing values only on mouse-over—useful when using your wallet in public or on a shared screen. Suite also generates a new receiving address for every transaction by default, and it segregates accounts by extended public key (XPUB) so that addresses from different accounts cannot be easily linked together. Security Architecture The security model rests on the separation between the device and the host computer. Your private keys never leave the Trezor hardware. Even if your computer is infected with malware, an attacker cannot extract the keys or sign transactions without physical access to the device and your PIN. Suite verifies firmware authenticity to prevent compromised devices from being used, and it includes protections against address poisoning attacks, which attempt to trick you into sending funds to an address that looks similar to one you have used before. Passphrase-protected hidden wallets add another layer: even someone with your recovery seed cannot access the passphrase wallet without the exact passphrase you chose. Recent Updates and Mobile Access Suite receives regular updates. The May 2026 release (version 26.5.2) added stablecoin yield, WalletConnect balance warnings, side-by-side trading offer comparison, and a Caps Lock warning during passphrase entry to reduce typing errors. A later release in October 2026 extended passphrase length to 128 characters, added support for the Arc EVM network, enabled CSV export of trade history, and allowed swapping Bitcoin to EVM chains through LI.FI. On mobile, Trezor Suite is available for Android and iOS, though compatibility varies by device. The Trezor Safe 7 supports full functionality on iOS via Bluetooth, including sending and device management. Older models such as the Safe 5, Safe 3, Model T, and Model One offer full Android compatibility but limited iOS support—on iPhone, they can track portfolios and receive assets, but signing transactions requires the desktop app. For users who prefer a browser-based experience, Suite also runs as a web app at suite.trezor.io, though the desktop version is recommended for its stronger resistance to phishing and access to features like Tor and full-node connectivity.
